Drew School's commitment to student voice, agency, and leadership was fully displayed at the third annual 415 Festival. This event is a shining testament to our belief in the power of students, who take the reins in every aspect, from planning to execution. The 415 Festival is not just a showcase of talent; it's a unifying force, bringing people together and providing students with the opportunity to apply their leadership skills for community engagement.
The festival is more than a stage for performances; it's a practical classroom for real-world skills like organizing, collaborating, producing, and budgeting. Drew students gain valuable insights into the intricacies of executing a large-scale production that serves multiple purposes and constituents. From managing resources to coordinating performances, they work together as a dedicated team to create an unforgettable experience.
At this year's event, hosted by Drew School's student leadership groups, attendees were treated to a spectacular celebration of youth creativity and the arts. The diverse array of talents showcased reaffirmed our commitment to amplifying the voices of teenagers and redefining the high school experience. Drew School students took center stage, directing, producing, and hosting a dynamic, multi-cultural extravaganza that captivated the audience from start to finish. The evening featured mesmerizing vocal ensembles, electrifying guitar solos, breathtaking dance performances, and a show-stopping faculty performance inspired by the legendary "Thriller."
But the excitement didn't stop with the performances. Drew students demonstrated their entrepreneurial spirit by planning and operating pop-up restaurants in collaboration with some of San Francisco's finest eateries, including Curry Up Now, Elephant Sushi, and La Palma. These culinary delights added another layer of excitement to the evening, making the 415 Festival an unforgettable event for all who attended.
