There are lots of ways to make your gift. Giving to Drew is easy! You can make your gift or pledge online, by check, wire transfer, stock donations, or through your employer's matching gift program.
Drew School is an exempt organization as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code EIN 94-2219550.
Gifts of cash, typically payable by check, bank transfer, and credit card are tax deductible and provide immediate funds to the school. The easiest way to give is online or by calling the Advancement Office.
Gifts of stocks, other securities, or property have two significant advantages to the donor — they are tax-deductible for the full fair-market value of the gift when it is made, and the donor does not pay capital gains on the appreciated value of the stock or property. Contact Selena Shadle at selenashadle@drewschool.org for more information on how to make a gift of this type.
Many companies have a matching gift program which can double and, in some cases, triple the value of your gift. Please check with your company's Human Resources Department for more information.
Donor-advised funds are a great way to support Drew and they provide good tax incentives for donors. At Drew, donor-advised funds can be used for gifts to the Annual Fund, capital campaigns, or Raise the Paddle at the Dragon Spirit fundraiser. However, they can not be used to fulfill written pledges.
The IRS is fairly particular on how you use the funds. We can only accept donor-advised funds exclusively intended for charitable purposes. The IRS prohibits donor-advised fund account holders from receiving more than incidental benefits associated with the gift. For example, purchasing items of any kind at the live or online auction is not allowed. If you would like to use donor-advised funds to underwrite the auction, you must decline the tangible benefits that accompany it, such as tickets to the event.
If you would like to make a gift through a Donor Advised Fund, please let the Advancement Office know by emailing advancement@drewschool.org.
Drew welcomes donations of select objects as well as donations of auction items to the annual Benefit. Gift value is determined by the donor through appraisal or a record of purchase.
Many people choose to leave Drew in their estate plans or to make a deferred gift. These types of gifts ensure Drew’s financial stability for years to come and leave a valuable legacy of your commitment to the school. Such gifts can be made by leaving Drew as a beneficiary of your retirement funds or life insurance policy, or by naming Drew in your will or trust. In addition, certain types of trusts or deferred gifts can provide valuable tax incentives for the donor while providing for Drew’s future.
