Kate Halsey, Dean of Students

Kate Halsey hails from the east coast and is a nature lover, flea market enthusiast, and aspires to have a green thumb. Her journey to educational leadership arose from work experiences that have bridged the mental health and education sector. She believes that emotional health and wellbeing are foundational for students to learn, for adults to grow, and for communities to flourish. Kate has held a variety of roles in the mental health and academia, including Licensed Clinical Therapist at the Yale Child Study Center and UPenn’s Center for Trauma and Recovery, School Counselor, Dean of Students, and Assistant Head of Upper School for Student Life at Phoenix Country Day School. Most recently, she serves as the Head of Wellbeing and Residential Life at a newly founded boarding school, The New England Innovation Academy in Massachusetts. She is a graduate of the National Association of Independent Schools Aspiring Heads Fellowship and is a certified yoga teacher. Kate has a BA from Carleton College in Northfield, MN and an MSW from Southern Connecticut State University.
