Boys Varsity Soccer Wins NCS D2 Championship!

Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Soccer team, who defeated Making Waves Academy 3-2 in overtime to win the CIF NCS D2 Championship!

The Dragons entered the playoffs as the #3 seed and defeated Oakland Military Institute and Athenian before knocking off the #1 seed Making Waves.

A tight game the whole way, the Dragons took an early 1-0 lead when Sam L. scored on a header assisted by Gabe F-W 30 minutes into the first half. 

Making Waves tied it up 1-1 right before the half ended and went up 2-1 shortly into the second half.

The Dragons answered almost immediately when Jack S. scored on a free kick. The score remained tied through the rest of the second half.

In overtime, Daro S. put the game away after the ball was deflected a few times for the win.

Drew now holds NCS championships in both boys and girls soccer. Go Dragons!
