Boys Varsity Soccer Advances to BCL-Central Championship Game
Congratulations to the Boys Varsity Soccer team who defeated Gateway in the BCL-Central Semifinals and will play for the BCL-Central Championship on Friday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m., at Beach Chalet #1.
Both teams played tough defense leading to a scoreless tie at the half. The Dragons struck early in the second half on a wonderful shot by Gavin '20. The Dragons held the 1-0 lead until late in the second half when Gateway scored an equalizer goal.
Regulation time ended with a 1-1 score that sent the match into overtime. The Dragons scored four minutes into the 'Golden Goal' portion of overtime from a header by Aidan '21 just over Gateway's goalie to win the game in dramatic fashion.
The team showed tremendous heart and effort as many of them battled through injury to put this team forward into the championship match.
