Welcome to the 2024 Drew School Annual Fund Campaign: Brick by Brick, Connecting Community!

At Drew, we believe that every contribution helps us build something truly special. This year’s Annual Fund campaign is all about coming together as a community to support our students and continue building the foundation for their success—brick by brick.

And we’re inviting YOU to be a part of it!

What are This Year’s Annual Fund Goals?

  • $950,000 to fuel all the amazing experiences that make Drew vibrant—from small class sizes and hands-on learning to tuition assistance and faculty innovation.
  • 100% Current Family Participation—because when every family joins in, it shows our collective commitment to the Drew experience and inspires others to give!
  • Increased Participation Across the Drew Community! This year, we’re aiming for greater involvement from every part of our community— alumni, grandparents, friends, etc.—to help reach our $950,000 goal by Thanksgiving!

How Does the Brick by Brick Campaign Work for Current Drew Families?

It’s simple! We’ve sent a special LEGO brick, unique to your child’s class color. Send it back with your Annual Fund gift to help us build a visual representation of our community’s support. Together, we’ll create a display that grows as our campaign progresses, reflecting each family's involvement and the power of our collective generosity!

What’s the Deadline to Give?

We’re aiming to reach our goal from Current Families by Thanksgiving 2024—a time to celebrate gratitude and community.

WHY GIVE TO THE DREW SCHOOL ANNUAL FUND?

Your gift directly supports:
  • Tuition assistance for 48% of our students, making a Drew education accessible to families from all walks of life.
  • Innovative learning experiences like DEALL Week and beyond-the-classroom projects that make learning come alive.
  • Small class sizes, averaging just 14 students, which means more personalized attention and deeper connections between students and teachers.
Professional development for our dedicated faculty, helping them bring fresh ideas and inspiring new approaches to the classroom.

Offer a Challenging Yet Joyful Curriculum

When you give, you’re not just making a donation—you’re making an investment in our students, our school, and our future. Every brick (and every gift) counts, so help us meet our $950,000 goal by making a gift of ANY size.

Thank you for building a brighter future for Drew, one brick at a time!

FAQ

List of 5 frequently asked questions.

  • Why should parents participate in the Annual Fund?

Our annual  fund is the foundation of our fundraising efforts. Like most independent schools, and even many public schools now, we ask our community to contribute to this yearly unrestricted campaign. Since contributions are applied to the operating budget in the school year in which they are requested, Drew relies on donors to support the Fund every year. Likewise, your gifts have an immediate impact on the life of the school, and your child(ren)’s education.

The annual fund helps make up the difference between tuition revenues and the actual cost of Drew’s day-to-day operations. We ask that all gifts and pledges are made by December 31, and paid in full by June 15.
  • What does the annual fund support?

Gifts to the annual fund allow Drew to continue to support the programs and faculty that make our school thrive: everything from faculty salaries and professional development to tuition assistance and Experiential Education. The Fund also allows Drew to be flexible and responsive to yearly budgeting needs as they arise. In short, the Fund supports the school’s efforts to be the kind of environment that encourages teens to reach their potential every day.
  • How much should my family give?

This is a very personal decision. Because every child in the school benefits, we ask that everyone give at a level that is meaningful to their family. Gifts of all sizes add up to significant support for Drew and have ranged from $25–$50,000 and more. In addition to financial goals, we also hope to achieve 100% participation from families, Board of Trustees, faculty and staff. We ask that you make the Drew Annual Fund your giving priority this year.
  • Why don’t you just raise tuition?

In keeping with our mission, we keep tuition levels comparable to area schools to attract and retain a diverse and vibrant student community. Raising tuition significantly above that competitive level may discourage families from applying, which affects the entire community. Also, in contrast to tuition, Annual Fund gifts are 100% tax-deductible.
  • Or, just cut expenses?

The Board of Trustees and Administration work very hard to run a “tight ship” when it comes to our school’s annual budget. Most of our tuition revenue goes towards faculty and staff salaries, benefits, and fixed costs such as utilities and basic maintenance. We pride ourselves on our programs and our close personal relationships. To cut expenses would compromise our mission.
Drew School is an exempt organization, as described in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Your gift to the Annual Fund is fully tax-deductible and our tax-ID number is EIN 94-2219550.
An independent, nonsectarian, coeducational college preparatory school serving grades 9–12 where teenagers’ questions, self-expression, and high ambitions are respected, supported, and at the center of the experience.
